Internet Markup Languages

  • Description
    The Internet Markup Languages seminar provides an overview of the languages used to describe documents on the Web.  These markup languages are not programming languages - rather they're data description languages used to display text in a graphical format.  The four markup languages described in the seminar are SGML, HTML, XHTML, and XML.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand the fundamental concepts behind Internet markup languages through SGML
    • Understand how Web pages are developed using HTML
    • Understand "hidden" features of Web pages not visible graphically
    • Understand how to customized Web page development using XML, and how to combine it with standard HTML through XHTML
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
