Internet Protocols & Domain Structure

  • Description
    The Internet Protocols & Domain Structure seminar provides an overview of the primary methods used to pass information over the Internet.  Descriptions of TCP/IP Telnet, and FTP, including the address structure of classes and subnetting, is included.  Internet Control Message Protocol structure and its applications with multicasting and Voice Over Internet is also described.  The user structure of domain names and the tiered hierarchy of networks that use the protocols is also described.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand the primary Internet protocols, including TCP/IP, Telnet, and FTP
    • Understand how messages are multiplexed to permit multicasting
    • Understand the Internet Domain Name Structure, including how domain names are resolved
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
