Tailored Life Cycles

  • Description
    The Tailored Life Cycles seminar provides an overview of different industry-standard life cycles; how to analyze a project to choose the right life cycle; how to tailor your life cycle to fit any project; the pros and cons of prototyping; how to define reviews, baselines, and documentation appropriate for a project; and costs associated with each life cycle.  The life cycles described in this seminar are the Waterfall Model, the Incremental Build Model, the Operational Prototype Model, and the Spiral Model.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand the differences between development and system life cycles
    • Calculate life cycle costs
    • Describe life cycle processes and phase structures
    • Recognize where and when to use prototyping
    • Specify documentation appropriate for a project
    • Understand when to use the Waterfall Model
    • Understand when to use the Incremental Build Model
    • Understand when to use the Operational Prototype Model
    • Understand when to use the Spiral Model
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
