Object-Oriented & Real-Time Design

  • Description
The Object-Oriented & Real-Time Design seminar provides an overview of the major aspects needed to develop o-o and real-time systems.  Emphasis is on creating an o-o mindset, in which the developer must recognize relationships between data structures, control structures, and system attributes.  Emphasis is also on creating a real-time mindset, in which the developer must recognize the transient nature of multitasking environments, different ways for modules to communicate, and ways to isolate real-time errors.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand the differences between abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, and polymorphism, and how to use them in software design
    • Analyze system characteristics to choose the best view for software design
    • Understand how to model system behaviors
    • Understand how to model system control structures
    • Understand and construct an Entity-Relationship Diagram
    • Understand how to model real-time systems
    • Draw system representations for both o-o and real-time projects
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
