Software Project Management

  • Description
    The Software Project Management seminar provides an overview of project planning, development and maintenance of budgets and schedules, ways to measure the performance of staff members during different phases of project development, and established industry project tracking mechanisms.  Attendees are guided through the IEEE Software Project Management Plan for use as a possible project management template.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand the different constituencies involved in project management
    • Understand how to plan project stages
    • Construct PERT charts
    • Calculate project performance estimates
    • Understand contractual forms projects may have
    • Understand project organizations
    • Understand work packages, schedules, and budgets
    • Understand project managerial and technical processes
    • Understand the Work Breakdown Structure
    • Construct an effective Milestone Chart
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
