  • Description
    The QA, CM, & Risk Management seminar provides an overview of the fundamental elements of quality assurance, configuration management, and risk management.  QA Institute criteria and best practices are presented, and the quality management of functionality, usability, reliability, performance, and supportability are described.  QA processes are explained to effectively perform them while minimizing the impact on project development.  CM methodology is explained, including the important functions of configuration identification, configuration control, configuration auditing, and configuration status accounting, and is directed towards setting up the appropriate CM formality for an organization.  Risk management is explained, focusing on risk assessment (including identification, analysis, and prioritization) and risk control (including management planning, risk resolution, and risk monitoring).  An industry-accepted list of the top 10 software risks is reviewed, with ways to minimize them.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Understand effective quality assurance and how to perform it in a project development environment
    • Understand elements of configuration management and how to ensure software is controlled without impacting development or maintenance
    • Understand how to analyze and control software risks
  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
