Structured Software Design

  • Description
    The Structured Software Design seminar provides an overview of the ways to diagram data as it should flow through a system, specify a logical set of components, and construct a system of software modules that satisfies both the requirements and the data flow.  Important aspects of user interfaces (including international standards for interfaces) and user-friendly forms and reports are included.
  • At the end of the seminar, attendees will be able to
    • Do a data flow analysis and construct a data flow diagram
    • Proceed from data flow to control flow, using transaction analysis
    • Recognize how data is transformed from input to output
    • Understand user interfaces
    • Design user-friendly forms and reports, online and offline
    • Recognize how to emphasize cohesion and limit coupling
    • Recognize design hazards
    • Specify design logic using the Program Design Language

  • There is no limit on the number of attendees

  • Instructor Qualifications

    1. Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    2. 5 years professional experience in software engineering
    3. 5 years experience teaching computer professionals at the Graduate school level
